Tommy
Norment first came to Virginia's 3rd Senatorial District as a child when
his father worked at Cheatham Annex.
A graduate of James Blair High School in Williamsburg,
Tommy attended college at Virginia Military Institute before returning
to Williamsburg to attend the William and Mary School of Law.
In 1987, Tommy was elected to the James City Count
Board of Supervisors. He served as Chairman of the Board in 1991 before
being elected to the Senate in Virginia.
Tommy has been actively involved in the community
throughout his life. He currently serves as Co-Chairman of the
Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation Board of Trustees and was active in
planning the Jamestown 2007 Commemoration. He is a member of the
Williamsburg Area Chamber of Commerce and the James City County Ruritan
Club.
As a graduate of public schools and the father of a
teacher, Tommy has worked to improve funding for K-12 education and to
boost teacher salaries.
