Third Senatorial District
Each of Virginia's forty state senators are
citizen-legislators and represent approximately 180,000
citizens. State senators serve four-year terms and
receive an annual salary of approximately $18,000.
Virginia's Third Senatorial District includes all of
James City, Gloucester and New Kent Counties, all of the
City of Williamsburg, and parts of York County and the
